Akhnoor, Oct 07 (KNO): The 204th Raksha Pension Samadhan Ayojan began at Tanda in Akhnoor on Wednesday, bringing together defence veterans, Veer Naris and dependents for prompt and time-bound resolution of pension and welfare-related grievances. In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the 204th Raksha Pension Samadhan Ayojan (RPSA) was inaugurated at Tanda, Akhnoor, by Lt Gen Mohit Seth, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps, and Himanshu Shankar, IDAS, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts, Prayagraj, in the presence of senior military and pension authorities. He said the two-day Ayojan, being conducted on October 7 and 8, brings together Defence Forces veterans, Veer Naris, dependents of Ex-Servicemen and civilian defence employees from the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on a common platform for prompt, accessible and time-bound resolution of pension-related grievances. The inaugural event was also attended by Maj Gen Y S Sekhon, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, 10 RAPID (H), and Ravinesh Kumar, IDAS, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts, Northern Command, Jammu. The initiative reaffirms the commitment of the Defence Forces towards the welfare, dignity and well-being of veterans under the guiding ethos, “Your Pension - Our Commitment.” The spokesperson said the RPSA provides a single-window platform for veterans and their families to directly engage with concerned authorities for resolution of grievances related to pension, service-record updation, family pension and digital pension services, including SPARSH. He said emphasis is being placed on in-situ grievance redressal, with cases being resolved at the venue itself wherever feasible, while matters requiring further action are being pursued with the concerned agencies. A comprehensive facilitation network comprising 36 dedicated stalls has brought together Records Offices, ECHS, Rajya Sainik Board, AWPO, DGR, banks, SPARSH Service Centre, Veer Parivar initiatives and various Central and UT Government departments, providing veterans and their families access to pension, healthcare, welfare, resettlement and other support services under one roof. The Ayojan also focuses on awareness and empowerment of veterans and their families through dedicated lectures and interactive sessions on pension entitlements, welfare schemes, digital services, resettlement and employment opportunities. A free medical camp with specialist doctors, organised by an NGO, was also conducted for the benefit of veterans. The spokesperson said the Raksha Pension Samadhan Ayojan goes beyond grievance redressal, reaffirming the bond between the Nation and its veterans and the resolve to ensure that those who served the Nation with dedication and sacrifice continue to receive care, dignity and responsive support. “You Served the Nation. We Stand With You.”—(KNO)
